A Perfect Day

As I drive down the road
back to Ubud,
it reminds me of you.
The day we drove the bike
to Uluwatu,
had lunch at a warung
with extra hot sambal.
We were so sunburned.

Later that afternoon,
when we sped home,
I was holding on tightly to you,
and looking up
at all the kites flying.
I was thinking that it truly
was a perfect day.
