About The Illustrator
Weronika Kolinska has been drawing since she was a little girl. And since she was a child, she’s also been fascinated with nature and animals. She spent days observing lives of insects and other small creatures in her garden or watching David Attenborough’s documentaries.
It was not until she was 23 years old that she became vegetarian and got interested in animal rights, which soon led her to become vegan. She now volunteers at a Polish animal rights organization Otwarte Klatki (Open Cages). Their goal is to prevent the suffering of animals by implementing systemic social change, to document the conditions of factory farming, and to educate people along with promoting positive attitudes towards animals.
Weronika creates gloomy, detailed illustrations maintained in gray scale, but also likes to use her art to promote animal rights and veganism by creating more approachable and colorful pieces.
