A Great Green Success - Green Earth Festival wrap up

Green Earth Festival took place on Saturday 13th March at the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens, it was a great day!

THANK YOU to everyone who was involved with Green Earth Festival 2010!

 

We had a beautiful day with intermittent light rain with 3000-4000 people who attended.There was a great number of stalls with people coming up from Sydney and Melbourne just to be a part of Brisbane's newest environmentally friendly and cruelty free festival.

The Green Earth Festival volunteer team comprising of almost 100 people were complimented by many on their great team work and can-do attitude. Every single person involved in the Green Earth Festival team volunteered their time, energies, skills and expertise to the lead up of the festival, set up the day before, pack up the day after and obviously on the main day.

Without all our volunteers Green Earth Festival would not have been possible. THANK YOU.

We had many naysayers who thought that a vegan festival would not be possible in Brisbane, with the 3000-4000 people in attendance we proved that Brisbane is ready for a cruelty-free, environmentally-friendly and vegan event!  All the vegan food stalls sold out of their food on the day, so many people were impressed with the amount of food stalls. The Kids Zone run by Renata was flat out ALL day!

It was truly an amazing experience and it's magical knowing how much work, effort, time, energy, money etc that you have given to a project and seeing all of that pay off in a wonderful day that had a great atmosphere and vibe!

I have met so many beautiful people since embarking on organising Green Earth Festival and I am grateful for these people, my new closest friends (you know who you are) as well as my wonderful family.  See you at the next Green Earth Festival!
